Vitalik Buterin, the inventor of the Ethereum platform and it’s accompanying crypto coin, is a software genius, nobody doubts that. But as a person, there seem to be some annoying aspects to the young Canadian-Russian CEO. With his tweets, he often steps on the toes of others in the crypto world. After calling Justin Sun a small dictator a few months ago, this time he forgot to thank his former employees.
It almost reminded me of the time when Steve Jobs at Apple failed to thank the first Apple II software developers when he introduced the Mac to the general public.
Co-founder Steve Wozniak is still furious over this episode. Both men had a public row about it and the fight made the film about the life of the legendary Apple CEO.
Respect for EOS
Vitalik Buterin stated yesterday that he was very respectful of EOS, and in response to this, the founder of Cardano (who previously worked with Vitalik at Ethereum) made his opinion known.
It all started with this tweet where Vitalik said:
“If I were designing a new chain to live alongside Bitcoin and Ethereum, I would take all the political tradeoffs that BTC and ETH aren’t willing to take.”
After a very technical explanation, the young CEO concluded with:
‘This is why I actually have some respect for EOS and co. Is there a project other than EOS that has done actual thought leadership that you like? Perhaps Tezos?’
Charles Hoskinson, CEO of IOHK and inventor of Cardano who co-developed Ethereum with Vitalik, clearly felt forgotten and replied with a sarcastic sneer: “Love you too V.”
