Harry Potter Writer Doesn’t Understand Bitcoin – Internet and Elon Musk Help

The internet went into overdrive after Harry Potter writer JK Rowling admitted she doesn’t understand Bitcoin. In response to a tweet about Wizard’s and banks, the British billionaire writer started a tweetstorm that had every helping hand in the crypto world reach out to her. Even SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk jumped in.

It all started with Bitcoin’s official account tweeting: ‘Wizards still need to trust Gringotts Bank. Bitcoin fixes this.’

Many people understood a Harry Potter reference in that tweet and urged J.K. Rowling to answer the call. Even Leigh Cuen, a writer for Coindesk, stated: ‘If she ever pings me I will ‘die’ from happiness.’

It was of course at this very moment that the author decided to jump in and stated: ‘I don’t understand bitcoin. Please explain it to me.’

After this all bets were off and the entire crypto-sphere jumped in to help.

Even Tesla CEO Elon Musk chimed in with his thoughts on the issue, the second time he’s tweeted about Bitcoin in a week.

Thousands of explanations as to what the invention of the mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto entails were sent, but still to no avail, as J.K. Rowling later admitted: ‘I’m afraid I’ll never be able to log in to Twitter again without someone getting angry I don’t own Bitcoin. One day you’ll see a wizened old woman in the street, trying to trade a Harry Potter book for a potato. Be kind. She did try to understand.’

In any case, with more and more mentions in the popular press in the week of the halving and multiple celebrity mentions, it’s been another winning week for Bitcoin, which at the moment of writing trades around $9,500, up almost 20% for the year.

How are those stock markets doing?
