With only months to go and Democratic Joe Biden looking a tad unstable at times, it would seem that Nancy Pelosi would have been the candidate of choice who’s not afraid to take on US President Donald Trump.
And now, the gloves are really coming off. A few hours after US President Donald Trump revealed that he was taking the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine in order to protect himself from the coronavirus, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi referred to him as being ‘morbidly obese’ on CNN in a rebuttal.
Speaking to Anderson Cooper, she stated: “He’s our president, and I would rather he not be taking something that has not been approved by the scientists, especially in his age group and his, shall we say, weight group … morbidly obese, they say.”
The Democratic Senate Leader Chuck Schumer also dug in, stating: “Maybe he’s really not taking it because the president lies about things characteristically.”
“I don’t know whether he is taking it or not. I know him saying he is taking it, whether he is or not, is reckless, reckless, reckless.”
Trump has not yet responded but we’re quite sure he won’t let this pass.
